It costs $3 to park at the Las Vegas airport to pick someone up. A small walk in takes you to baggage where you can sit in air conditioning. This is way better than waiting in arrivals or departures either way, far less gas wasted.

My recurring need: Booking flights, Seattle (SEA) to Thailand -- preferably Phuket (HKT), but can also arrive Bangkok (BKK) and use connecting flight to smaller airports. Typically can book as much as 6 months in advance... Round-trip, 2-month stay, but would prefer to have return flight that could easily be rescheduled while in country... Ideally, would like yo avoid long (20 hr) layovers for connecting flights... Been flying economy, but it's a grueling flight -- haven't been able to finagle any upgrades at affordable rates... Any tips?

I was upgraded twice, once to First Class & once to Business Class for free, without asking for it. The First Class upgrade happened because my partner was in Business Class & I was in Economy. We wanted to sit together & there wasn't another Business Class seat available so we were both moved to First Class. The Business Class upgrade happened because there was a large group of Far East travelers causing a hold up at check in. I waited patiently. Because I was patient, I was moved to Business Class; went to the private dining room; and was let on to the plane first. Of course, you have to dress for the part. And I love dressing up. ☺

Two things I’ve discovered to *not* bring in your carry-on: Roasted coffee, and sweetener containing erythritol. The strong aroma of coffee is often used to mask the odor of contraband. Erythritol (e.g., in monkfruit) can be used in explosives. Both of those things will get your bag selected-out by TSA agents for thorough search.

Some thing I learned at airPort when they ask you : my mom told me when they ask you do you have any thing flammable they mean aerosol cans as I was going to major in fire protection I think I said everything was flammable because basically anything that's not asbestos can burn !

Totally agree about the tables & blankets. Yes, portable tables & door handles can - and should! - be cleaned with spirit servetts, which one must always have in the pocket. But the blanket can't be disinfected that easily. So, the only solution is to have a nice, wide, thick scarf with you. Ladies can wear shawls, but even gentlemen have the right to put the warm scarf around their shoulders.

Concerning tip 4 it's not just airports. Back in the day when every phone maker had proprietary chargers and cords, I worked in L&F at a casino and we had a shelf of boxes for each brand and were more than happy to give them away. Aside from that, I know some casinos that had employee sales of unclaimed L&F every quarter.

I have 3 1 ounce gold pieces. What is the best way to travel with them? I purchased a small safe that is approximately 9 x 5“ long with a combination lock on it. Should I put the gold pieces in there or should I do as you suggested and get a jacket with a lot of pockets in it? I know wearing them on me would just trigger a personal search. Also, what about jewelry? I am permanently moving to Kuwait from Texas and I am 75 years old. I think I do not have to pay for TSA consideration according to their site I tried to call them today, but it’s Saturday.
